Outdoor & Art
The ideal combination
The Matarraña region is colour, adventure, villages carved from stone, secluded walks and paths, tranquillity, water, Gothic Art, wild nature, politeness, tradition, culture, local cooking, olives, mystery, Iberian settlements, ancestral rites, virgin river, taste ….
Of its villages, worked in stone, above all Valderrobres, with its impressive castle, and Calaceite, both declared “one of the most beautiful villages in Spain”, as well as La Fresneda, declared a historic and artistic conclave.
But each one of the 18 towns within the region has something to discover.
Heritage & History
The area of Peñarroya de Tastavins, where the hotel is located, is well known for the Masmut, (red rocks that give their name to the village). Within the village there is a subsidiary of the Dinopolis group of museums each specialising in different dinosaurs, Gothic and ethnologic museums along with the information centre on local pig farming.
Activities in the countryside in the area are completed with the Green trail, Val de Zafan, a now abandoned train track converted into a cycle path, numerous natural swimming pools and the National Park with its abundant flora and fauna.
In collabaration with local businesses, we offer from our hotel the possibility to carry out a variety of activities:
